Keys of the Kingdom :

The use of healings and miracles in conversions of the masses is the Keys of the Kingdom, Matthew 16:17. The Gifts of the Spirit, are the continuation of the ministry of Jesus in the earth, through his body the Church. The Keys of the Kingdom are in fact, the life of Jesus Christ still operating in the earth. "The life of Jesus Christ is manifest in our mortal bodies," 2 Cor. 4:10,11. These Keys open heaven to multitudes of unbelievers when they see and hear the miracles done in the Name of Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost. See also 1 Cor. 14:24,25,5, in that order.

Do you know of any father, who, seeing his child hungry and asking for bread, would refuse to give his child the life-giving bread it needed. The Father has prepared bread for his children. He delights to give us that bread called healing for our physical bodies.

A woman of Syrophenicia, who was a pagan temple prostitute, had an illegitimate daughter who was grievously vexed with a devil. She came to Jesus for help. The twelve couldn't get rid of her. They told her that she was a Gentile and a prostitute idol worshipper and that therefore the Bible wasn't for her. But she wouldn't leave. She asked Jesus again for help and Jesus said he was only sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. She still wouldn't leave. Matt. 15: 25, "Then she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me." That word Lord is out of the Septuagint which means, Jehovah. She recognized his deity and worshipped him and called him Lord. But Jesus had one more test for her. She had to face her sinful past and repent. Jesus said, in Vs. 26, "It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs." Note: the word dog was the regular term used for prostitutes. It was not an insulting word as it is today.

The woman answered, "True, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table. Again she worshipped him by calling him master. She got the dog spirit. She accepted the lowly position assigned to her by the Law of God and by the God of the Law. Jesus answered immediately, "O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt." And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. If you have faith, and admit your sinful position before the Lord in humility and worship, the Lord will give you what you will. Hadn't the Lord said, he will give you the desires of your heart, Ps 37:4. He didn't say he would give you your desires all 'except' for healing for your body. Yes healing for your body is included.

The Lord said, "He sent his Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Ps. 107:20. NOTE: He sent his Word for healing and he never took it back. One day that Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He has never left or forsaken us. Didn't Jesus say that his words would never pass away, Luke 21:33. Nothing Jesus ever promised or gave to man can be taken from us or will pass away.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost fell on the 120 in the upper room in Jerusalem and they all spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. This tongues speaking attracted a large crowd. Peter took advantage of the crowds interest in the miracle sign of speaking in other tongues and preached Christ to them in the power of the Holy Ghost. Three thousand men plus women and children were saved that day. It all started with the sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave them the utterance.

A few days later, a lame man at the Gate Beautiful of the Temple was healed when Peter commanded him to arise in the Name of Jesus. Again a large crowd was attracted because of the miracle of healing. Again Peter took advantage of the occasion and preached Christ to them. This time 5,000 men plus women and children were saved. Peter had not come there to preach. He and John were headed into the Temple to pray. When that miracle happened, the crowd came and listened and believed Peter's doctrine. (Acts 3:1-11;4:4).

The Apostles were arrested as a result of the miracle. They were threatened and then let go. In the face of such persecution, the entire church prayed, "Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, BY STRETCHING FORTH THINE HAND TO HEAL; AND THAT SIGNS AND WONDERS MAY BE DONE BY THE NAME OF THY HOLY CHILD JESUS." (Acts 4:29-33.)

Then immediately the Lord Jesus answered their prayer. The scripture says, "And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people;...the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. (Miracles = Crowds = Preaching Christ = mass conversions). Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Millions are still vexed, oppressed or possessed by devils. Jesus is still going with his ministers who will believe and receive the power he gives by the Holy Ghost baptism and the Gifts of the Spirit, and healing the sick.

In Iconium, Paul and Barnabas preached Christ in the synagogue and a great multitude of both Jews and Greeks believed on the Lord Jesus. Acts 14: 3, "Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands." Again, miracles and signs of the Holy Ghost convinced the people by confirming the truth of Paul's gospel.

NOTE; Jesus granted signs and wonders, the crowds came; the Gospel was preached and GREAT MULTITUDES believed. The miracles were said to be: Jesus giving testimony unto the word of HIS GRACE, as preached by the apostles. Jesus has never stopped granting miracles which is HIS testimony to the truth of the message preached. Preachers have stopped receiving the Spirit's Baptism evidenced by other tongues and the power of the Holy Ghost. That's the problem. Traditions of the elders have made void the Word of God. The Word is valid to those who believe it and obey; but void to those who refuse to believe it and obey. (Mark 7:3,5,8,9,13; Luke 11:52).

In the region of Lycaonia, Paul commanded a cripple to stand and be healed in Jesus Name. The man was instantly healed. This caused the entire countryside to rush together in amazement and wonder at the mighty miracle done in Jesus name. The miracle caused the entire populace to have infinite faith in Paul and Barnabas so that they even tried to do sacrifice to them as though they were gods. Many churches were formed because of this single miracle, even though it also caused great persecution to come on Paul.

Speaking by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, Paul said, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant." 1 Cor. 12:1. Then he said, "The manifestation of the Spirit is given to EVERY MAN (not just apostles or prophets or the first century church), to profit with, Vs. 7. Then he lists the nine supernatural Gifts of the Holy Spirit and concludes with the statement of Vs. 11, "But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to EVERY MAN severally as he will."

The nine supernatural gifts of the Spirit are given so the church can profit thereby. Without the nine supernatural gifts of the Spirit, the church cannot show the profit Jesus intended. Notice Paul's detailed instruction on how to conduct church services as given in 1 Cor. 14:26, "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, EVERY ONE OF YOU, hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation." Which Seminary or Bible College or church denomination today would accept and abide by Paul's instructions for conducting church services? Yet Paul placed a curse upon all who preach any other Gospel than that which he preached.

Jesus said, 'Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." Acts 1:8. Do you have that power. NOTE: every time that power fell in the New Testament, all the believers spoke in other tongues. How do we know. Because Paul said he preached the same Gospel every where he went; and he taught the same doctrines every where in all the churches.1 Cor. 1:10; Phil. 3:16; 2 Tim. 2:2; Gal. 1:4-15; Acts 15:41;16:5; Rom. 16:4; 1 Cor. 7:17;14:33. Therefore, since Paul received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues profusely, (Acts 9:17; 1 Cor. 14:18); and since he laid his hands on believers at Ephesus and the Holy Ghost came on all of them and they all spoke in other tongues, (Acts 19:6,7); and since Paul practiced the same doctrine every where he preached: all the churches Paul founded were Baptized with the Holy Ghost and spoke in other tongues.

How could Paul have instructed the believers at Corinth about the use of speaking in tongues and the Gifts of the Holy Ghost if they had not also received the Spirit Baptism as evidenced by their speaking in unknown tongues; even though the text of Acts 18 telling about the founding of the church at Corinth didn't mention that fact. It's omission from the text did not mean that Paul did not preach the Baptism to them, or that they did not receive the Baptism as evidenced by speaking in other tongues.

Paul would not start a Pentecostal church at Ephesus and a Baptist church at the other cities where he preached. He would have brought himself under his own double curse for changing his Gospel from town to town. Think about that!

To the church at Galatia, Paul said, "He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Gal. 3:5. So the church at Galatia had the Holy Ghost Baptism and saw miracles done in Jesus Name. Acts 9:26; 11:27; 12:25; 15:4; 18:21 and 21:17, tell of Pauls many visits to the region of Galatia. But notice, all the above scriptures references are silent on the subject of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Note the fact, that, just because the above scripture texts do not specifically tell that Paul preached the Baptism of the Holy Ghost to the Galatians doesn't mean that he did not do so, nor that the Galatians did not receive the Spirit's Baptism as evidenced by speaking in other tongues, as we have seen from Gal. 3:5.

There is no such thing as the 'age of miracles'. The Lord has performed miracles in every age. But in the age of grace, when all sickness and infirmity has been borne by the Lord Jesus in his own body by the whipping he took, there have been more miracles than in all other dispensations combined. Elijah never had a healing line.

Another reason for the many miracles in the age of grace is that the believers have been filled with the power of the Holy Ghost and told that certain signs would follow them, such as; they shall lay hands on the sick in Jesus Name and they shall recover, in Jesus Name they shall cast out devils and speak with new tongues, Mark 16:17. All true believers do speak with new tongues and cast out devils in Jesus Name.

Please note, the scripture said that these signs shall follow, "them that believe", the preaching of the Gospel, not just apostles or special holy persons. Note; never does the scripture say that signs miracles and wonders would cease. Jesus took our sicknesses, and bore our diseases (or infirmities), Matt. 8:17. Until the atonement of Jesus passes away, healing for physical sicknesses will still be done by the Lord Jesus to all who believe.

Jesus gave a promise of healing to all who believe. Jesus repeated this promise many times in the Gospels. Peter said, Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, Acts 10:38. This shows that all sickness is the oppression of the devil.

It was the devil that struck Job with boils, Job 2:7; it was Satan that bound the woman of Luke 13:16, for eighteen years according to Jesus. Satan has not stopped binding people and Jesus has not stopped setting them free.

Since Jesus does not and indeed cannot change, he will do the same today as he did yesterday, Heb. 13:8. If Jesus stopped healing people, he would have to take back all the wonderful promises he made, such as; "all things are possible to them that believe, Mark 9:23; If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you, John 15:7; All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive, Matt. 21:22; Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, Luke 11:9,10; Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, John 14:13; If ye shall ask anything in my name I will do it, John 14:14; What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them, Mark 11:24.

Look at this list of promises again. Tell me, in which promise did Jesus say that he would cancel that promise at some unknown time in the near future? Wouldn't that have been a disappointment if the Lord had broken his many promises. Another question! In which promise did Jesus say that that promise was good for everything except healing of the sick and infirm? That's right: not one. Here is another promise of healing: If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them, Matt. 18:19. Did that promise say, anything except healing? No it didn't.

Another promise: Is any sick among you, let him call the elders of the church. Let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. The prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord (who is working with them), shall raise him up, James 5:14,15. The Lord Jesus has never stopped raising up the sick. This promise is still valid. It will be in force as long as the Lord Jesus keeps saving people by grace through faith. Only when salvation for the soul 'passes away', will healing for the body 'pass away', for they are both in the same atonement. Jesus took our sins, Jesus took our sicknesses, 1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17. Anyone who cuts off any part of the atonement of Jesus Christ is violating the scriptures.

To the father of the demon possessed boy, Jesus said, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to them that believe, Mark 9:23. To the two blind man who came for healing, Jesus said, Believe ye that I am able to do this? Matt. 9:28. To the grieving father, whose daughter had just died, Jesus said, Be not afraid, only believe, Mark 5:36. To all believers, Jesus said, (W)hosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith, (not prayeth), Mark 11:23.

The only way mankind can know anything about the great Almighty God is when God chooses to reveal himself to man. God is invisible. God is not a man. God doesn't have a body like humans. God is Spirit. Being invisible, no man can see him. But also God is holy, so holy that no man can approach him. But man is sinful and God's absolutely holy nature will not allow man to see him or come into his presence.

The only true facts any man knows about God is what he chooses to reveal. The only truth God has revealed to man has come through his prophets in the Old Testament and through Jesus Christ in the New Testament.

God told Moses, speaking from out of a cloud, that his name was Jehovah. Later, God gave Moses another name for himself, it was Jehovah-Rapha, which means I am the Lord that Healeth thee. God's name reveals God's nature. God's name reveals God's perfect will for mankind. To say that God doesn't heal sick bodies is to deny God's revealed name and to deny God's revealed nature. Dispensations change, God never. Therefore God's name never changes for his nature never changes. God is immutable, which means not only that he does not change but that he CANNOT CHANGE. Therefore, if God was ever a healer, he is still a healer. Jehovah said, I AM GOD, I CHANGE NOT, Mal. 3:6.

Jesus is a High Priest who is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He cares when we hurt with pain from any source. Heb. 4:15. Never blaspheme the ministry of our High Priest by saying he no longer is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. This would impugn his integrity. This would misrepresent our High Priests' own stated ministry.

The High Priesthood of Jesus was given with an oath. He is a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek. Furthermore, Jesus' priesthood is an unchanging and also unchangeable Priesthood, Heb.7:1-24. Perish the thought that Jesus would begin his priesthood by going everywhere with the first church ministers and confirming their word with miracles of healing and then suddenly change his priesthood and stop healing the sick.

Perish the thought that our High Priest would begin his priesthood by suffering our pains and sicknesses and bearing our infirmities at the whipping post and then for a short season heal sicknesses but then suddenly do an about face and stop healing and giving out the benefits of the Whipping post.

Perish the thought that our great High Priest would begin his glorious priesthood by being touched with the feeling of our infirmities and then suddenly do an about face and no long care or no longer be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.

Anyone who says that Jesus doesn't do today exactly what he did in the first church, is misrepresenting our High Priest and blaspheming his worthy unchangeable priesthood. During Jesus' earthly minister, it was said of him that a great multitude followed him as he sought to take his disciples aside and rest. But when he saw their sick, he had compassion on them and healed all their sick, Matt. 14:14.

The word compassion means, I feel what you feel. When you hurt, I hurt. The High Priesthood of the Lord Jesus is based on selfless compassion and love, not on law. He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. In the days of his flesh he had compassion (suffering with) on the multitudes. Now in his ministry as our High Priest, he has never changed, he still is touched with the feeling of our hurts and sicknesses. (Hebrews 4:15 KJV)

How would it sound to say that Jesus is interested in the scar on your soul but not in the cancer in your brain or womb. Jesus said he notices even the hairs that fall from our heads each day. Would Jesus count our fallen hairs and skip over the cancer in our brain. He sees even the sparrows that flit and hop all over the face of the earth. How much more valuable are we than sparrows or lilies. Yes Jesus is vitally interested in our physical well being and health. Jesus, speaking through the disciple of love, John, said, "Beloved, I wish (or pray) above all things that you may prosper (materially) and be in health (physically) even as your soul (spiritual man) prospers, 3 John 2.

Jesus, speaking through the greatest preacher and missionary of all time said, "I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless (not invaded by satan) unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thess. 5:23.

The Spirit of Christ in John and Paul and all the rest of the ministers of the Gospel spoke clearly of Christ's continued care and concern for the healing and health of the physical body of the believers. Note that this loving care was to continue, "unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ". Jesus Christ, the SAME, yesterday, and today, and forever, Heb. 13:8.Jesus said, "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age, (Matt. 28:20).

Jesus cannot change in any way. He still has the same loving compassion for the sick; he still has the same priesthood which is touched with the feeling of our infirmities; he still gives Gifts (supernatural) unto men for the healing of the sick; he still works with his preachers and confirms their preaching by granting miracles and healings.

Peter said it best, in the Living Bible, Acts 15:10, when he told the assembled preachers of the first church at Jerusalem, "Brethren, are you going to try to CORRECT GOD". Peter said, Jesus knows what he is doing, lets all follow him and not try to change his methods or his message. His words need to be sounded out today to all believers everywhere.

The solution, in the words of Jesus, "Tarry until you are endued with power from on high, (Luke 24:49), and "You shall receive POWER after the Holy Ghost is come upon you." (Acts 1:8). They tarried and they received the Holy Ghost power from on high, BEFORE they went out preaching the Word. We cannot improve on His method or his message. Jude added his voice, "Beloved, was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should EARNESTLY CONTEND for THE FAITH ONCE DELIVERED UNTO THE SAINTS." That's right, no one can improve on the Lord's original methods or message.
